Project & Tutorial by Samantha Star for Elemental Doodles™ – July 2009

- Lay your coasters out side by side. Allow about 0.25” in-between each side. Use a piece of thin paper (I used peach paper or butcher’s paper) that is about 1” wide to create your spine. It does not need to go from the top to the bottom of the card. Glue this into place with liquid glue. Once it is dry use a bone folder to create a crease, so your card will bend and close.
- User another coaster and trace it twice onto patterned paper. Cut out and glue them onto the front of your coasters. Trim around the edges if necessary. Ink if desired (I usually ink edges when my cutting isn’t as exact as it should be!)
- Use a strip of patterned paper to create your spine on the outside of the card. Glue into place with liquid glue. Decorate the front of your card as desired.
Below are a couple more pictures of a different Coaster Book that was assembled with a Ring rather than adhesive. Use for a mini journal, mini art book, mini photo album, junk journal….the options are unlimited.
